Reconstructive therapy of peri-implantitis is indicated in contained defects. This approach proved safe and effective. It entails the use of bone grafts with or without barrier membrane. Nevertheless, it is still unclear the most suitable biomaterials to be used, including bone grafts, barrier membranes and biologics to succeed in reconstructing the defect. The aim of this webinar is to provide further insight into the different alternatives in terms of biomaterials in the reconstructive management of peri-implantitis and the evidence-based effectiveness of them.

P4 Medicine is based on a proactive approach for clinical patient care incorporating the four “pillars” of prediction, prevention, personalization and participation for patient management. The purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate how the concepts of P4 medicine can be incorporated into the management of periodontal diseases (particularly periodontitis) termed P4 Periodontics. The proposed model of P4 Periodontics is highly aligned with the 2018 Classification of Periodontal Diseases and represents a logical extension of this classification into treatment paradigms. Each stage of periodontitis can be related to a holistic approach to clinical management. The role of “big data” and artificial intelligence in future P4 Periodontics is discussed and the concepts of a treat-to-target focus for treatment outcomes is proposed as part of personalized periodontics. P4 Periodontics allows us to focus not only on early prevention and intervention and provides a a novel means of viewing a holistic, integrative and proactive approach to periodontal treatment.

Flapless immediate implant placement and immediate loading poses an attractive solution for
the replacement of unrestorable teeth. This can eliminate the need for removable interim
appliances and significantly reduce surgical morbidity. However, are all patients and teeth
suitable for this treatment? And can we achieve predictable regeneration of the hard and soft
tissue surrounding an immediate implant?
This lecture will explore the site assessment criteria for immediate implant placement and
immediate restoration and provide evidence based guidelines for predictable results with
immediacy.
