Dr. med. dent. Brenda Mertens is a specialist for more than 10 years in Periodontology. She graduated as laureate in dentistry at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) in 2005. She did the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) Post-Graduate program in Periodontology and Implantology in Strasbourg (France) from 2005-2008 and finalized at the same time her Doctorate Degree.

Former Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontology in Montpellier (France), she is nowadays lecturer in multiple French Dental Schools and continuing education programs. 

Meanwhile she was one of the first EFP Junior Officers for the External Affairs Committee of the EFP (2014-2017). Currently she is a member of the Société Française de Parodontologie et Implantologie Orale (SFPIO) Board of Languedoc-Roussillon, the National Communication Committee of SFPIO, the EAO Communication Committee and the Osteology Expert council.

Author of several national and international peer reviewed publications and book chapters. International speaker on; periodontal plastic surgery, soft and hard tissue regeneration, peri-implantitis and management of ortho-perio patients.

Dr. med. dent. Brenda Mertens performs clinical work in her own Private Practice limited to Periodontology and Oral Implantology in Montpellier.
