The extraction of a tooth, arguably the oldest form of dental treatment, has evolved significantly in its purpose. While the mechanics remain largely unchanged, the goal has shifted from being an endpoint of a tooth life-span to a crucial starting point in a patient's treatment journey. This paradigm shift transforms the extraction from a traumatic procedure into a pivotal step towards preserving hard and soft tissue volume. This presentation will explore extraction techniques - aimed at preserving hard tissue and discuss the considerations for implementing Alveolar Ridge Preservation (ARP).
